How are your piñatas made?
All my piñatas are personally made by me. I use recycled materials such as newspaper and cardboard. Depending on the construction method I may use homemade glue for Papier Mâché or regular white glue, or hot glue. I decorate with colourful tissue paper, crepe papers and construction paper.
Do you do custom piñatas?
All my piñatas are custom made. I don’t keep inventory. I can pretty much replicate any character. Kids are the best at requesting their favourite characters and heroes. I welcome any new ideas. I love the challenge of making a piñata for the first time.
How do I put the stuffing in the piñata?
All pinata come with a door to put the stuffing in. I usually place a 3”x 3” door at the top or on the back if the piñata. I do not supply the stuffing, but I will be happy to offer recommendations based on the occasion, number of guests, their gender and their ages.
Does the Piñata come with a string?
Yes, all piñatas come with a string of about 20 inches long for hanging. I provide a strong twine that goes from the top of the Piñata down to the bottom and back up, to make sure that it is strong enough to support the weight and the whacking
What is a Whack Piñata?
A Whack Pinata refers to the traditional method of hitting the piñata to gain access to the stuffing. Guests take turns to hit the piñata with a stick. My piñatas are sturdy enough for multiple guests to participate. Whack pinatas are a good option for older kids, But don’t be surprised if your baby wants to hit the piñata with the stick. Little ones can also have a lot of fun swinging the stick.
What is a pull-strings piñata?
Pull-Strings piñatas come with a handful of strings at the bottom to pull, get the trapdoor open and gain access to the stuffing. Each guest pulls one string at the time. Only one string will open the trapdoor. The rest are loosely glued. All strings can also be pulled at once by all guests to open trap door. This method is usually recommended for babies and toddlers
What do I fill the piñata with?
All piñatas are sold empty. You can fill them up with any stuffing that matches your party theme. For kids birthday parties, consider the age, gender and number of guest. Include small toys (party favours), chocolate coins, candy, crayons, and mini colouring books, etc. Make sure all eatables are pre-wrapped. For Gender Reveal, include blue or pink party favours, confetti and candy. For engagement parties and weddings consider planning ahead an getting good-wish messages from friends and family. Stuff them in small red envelopes sealed with a heart.
How far in advance should I place my order?
Please order at least 3 weeks in advance. The production time for a piñata varies with size and complexity. Some piñatas require several days of production time just to apply layers of papier-mâché and allow them dry.
Do you offer returns or exchanges?
Because all my pinatas are made to order, I do not offer refunds or exchanges. I will however, accept cancellations within 2 days of purchase
Do you offer shipping services?
I use Canada Post regular shipping services, which include tracking. Express and other services such as insurance and signature are available upon request. Handling price is $10 I have marked a few oversized piñatas as “No Shipping Available” Don’t hesitate to inquire about these models even if you need shipping. I will make every effort to scale them down in size to make shipping feasible
